Meådal – Golden Eagle Photography

Norway

About

Settle into the quiet rhythm of a Norwegian winter at Meådal, a private Golden Eagle photography stay in Flornes, Trøndelag. From January to mid-March, we welcome one to four photographers at a time. Your group has exclusive use of two heated photography hides and the Red Cabin, a traditional log cabin built in 1908. The hides sit in open mountain scenery, around 200 metres from the cabin. You head out before first light and spend the day watching the changing winter landscape, ready for the moments nature brings. Back at the cabin, there is time to warm up, prepare a meal and look through the day’s photographs. We meet you at the farm and take you, your camera equipment and luggage up to the cabin by snowmobile and sled. After an introduction to the cabin, hides and daily routines, you use the facilities independently, with practical help available by phone. Accommodation and transport between the farm and cabin on arrival and departure are included; guests bring their own food and photography equipment. This is a paid photography stay, available by advance booking, with a minimum of two hide days. Meådal is about 30 minutes by car from Trondheim Airport Værnes. The Golden Eagles are wild, and every encounter is on their terms. We can’t promise they’ll appear, or predict how close they’ll come or how they’ll behave.
