About
Aurora & Locals is a marketplace for private journeys in Iceland, each one led by a vetted local host. Every journey is designed around the guest, across three specialities: Aurora: nights out with hosts who know the sky and the ground beneath it, and who say honestly when the conditions are unlikely to deliver. Gastronomy: Icelandic food through the people who cook, catch, and grow it, from family tables to local producers. Wellness: unhurried time in Iceland's geothermal waters and open landscapes, guided by locals who treat them as part of daily life. Our hosts are Icelanders who guide in person. Behind them, a marketing and customer experience team handles the planning, so hosts can give guests their full attention. We sell direct, never through online travel agencies, which keeps the relationship between traveller and host personal from first enquiry to last night. We are building our own aurora forecasting engine to make our advice sharper. Service comes before sales, and 2% of our income goes to education, feeding the hungry, and environmental preservation in Pakistan where our back office is located & 1% of total revenue would go to Icelandic Sustainability efforts Aurora & Locals is a licensed operating in Iceland with phased expansion into Northern Europe planned from next year. We welcome travel advisors and operators whose clients want Iceland at a personal scale.
