About
After retiring from a career in corporate America I began an exciting new chapter as a tour director. I am a TripSchool Certified Tour Director, having completed the 2026 San Francisco BootCamp, and I have already had the opportunity to lead tours during the busy May and June season-Primarily in Washington D.C. and New York City where I am licensed. I love the energy of tour directing: the fast pace, the constant movement, and the need to adapt quickly when plans change. Creating a smooth meaningful experience for travelers while managing the details behind the scene is both challenging and incredibly rewarding. I thrive in the "go-go" atmosphere, where flexibility, organization, clear communication, and a positive attitude make all the difference. American history has always been a strong personal interest. I took numerous history courses in college, and now I have the time to continue exploring that passion through reading, travel, and firsthand experiences at historic places. I enjoy helping travelers connect with the stories behind the landmarks, museums, neighborhoods, and people they encounter along the way. I also stay actively involved in my community through volunteer work with the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, Classical Taho and my local church. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for the arts, teamwork, hospitality, and bringing people together around meaningful shared experiences. Coming from a family of six-and having raised four sons, all now successfully launched into adulthood, I feel very much at home in active group settings. I enjoy meeting new people, keeping groups engaged and informed, and helping each traveler feel welcomed and cared for throughout the journey. My primary residence is in Nevada, thought I also spend time in California. San Francisco is my gateway city, and I am available for opportunities throughout the region and beyond. Thank you for visiting my Campfire page. I look forward to connecting and helping create memorable, well organized, and enriching travel experiences.
Hobbies & Interests
Outdoor Adventures: Skiing, hiking, cycling, camping, kayaking, cooking, and gardening. Staying physically fit and in great shape, physically and mentally, is the key to longevity and it enables me to have the active lifestyle I enjoy. I also became an ordained minister after my niece asked me to marry her and later one of my nephews asked me to marry him as the officiant for these weddings
Fun Fact
I was an attendant at table games (Dealer) at Caesars Lake Tahoe for several years where I dealt Craps and Blackjack among other table games.
