About
In my first season as a Tour Manager, I jumped in with both feet. Since completing Boot Camp this past March, I've taken on ten tours — five student, five adult — with destinations ranging from New York, Washington DC, Chicago, and Philadelphia to the national parks of the American West. What sets me apart is that I've worked the vendor side of group travel. At the Grand Ole Opry I handled group ticketing directly with tour operator buyers, so I know the relationship from the vendor's side — what operators and vendors need from a tour manager, not just what tour managers need from them. My earlier background in large-scale live operations at Disney World, Carnival, and Disney Cruise Lines reinforced the same lesson: successful group travel runs on clear communication, calm decision-making, and careful logistics that guests rarely need to see. This season I've handled both planned and last-minute assignments, including tours accepted with minimal preparation time. I'm comfortable learning an itinerary quickly, managing group energy, working with students and adults alike, and keeping the experience moving when plans change. Years of traveling as a hockey dad also prepared me well for student travel: early mornings, late nights, tight turnarounds, and the realities of moving young people from place to place. I bring patience, adaptability, a strong sense of responsibility, and a steady presence on the road. I'm looking to build long-term relationships with tour operators, expand my destination experience, and take on a consistent calendar of student and adult tours. I'm especially effective when an operator needs reliable coverage on short notice. When I'm not traveling, I enjoy spending time with my family, warm weather, and a good science fiction novel.
