After a career of teaching middle school and taking my own students on their DC trip, I switched hats by adding both a DC and New York City tour guide license to my repertoire, and had my skill set enhanced with Trip School destination training in DC, New York, Boston, and in the National Parks. Unleashed on the world, I’ve put it all into good use by enjoying multiple seasons of leading both student and adult tours from Virginia to Maine on the east coast (including DC, Philadelphia, NY and Boston, fall foliage and Disney World) national parks and other adventurous both East and West of the Rockies. I continue to enrich my bag of tools and strategies that keep both students and adults engaged and interacting with the locations and cultures of our nation’s past, present and future. I enjoy watching historic and cultural sites come alive for students and adults alike as they realize that they are part of something bigger than themselves, and see with fresh eyes that they too can make a difference. Digging in deep or skimming the surface, I will collaborate with you to create your adventure. It is important that we communicate before and during your trip so we can be sure it meets your expectations. I am excited to meet you and help everyone on the trip have the experience of a lifetime! Hobbies & Interests
When I am not working the 26 acres I am blessed to live on, or carving another chess set, my sense of adventure has me hiking/snow shoeing and kayaking with my dogs in the foothills of the Cascades of Southern Oregon. I also help with disaster relief via Samaritan's Purse when the opportunity arises.
